About Us
"nQube's goal is to remove the technical burdens of tough optimization and data-modeling problems, as much as possible, so that you can focus on your particular applications."
Jason Fiege is the sole developer of the Qubist platform for global optimization, data modeling and visualization and perhaps the code's most enthusiastic professional user. His interests in evolutionary computing and difficult problems in parameter search, optimization, and data modeling date back to 2002, when he was an astrophysics Research Associate in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He is also a physics and astronomy professor in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he uses Qubist to tackle a variety of problems in astrophysics, as well as other interdisciplinary problems in medical physics.
Qubist was born out of necessity in 2002 when J. Fiege was working on a difficult data-modeling problem in astrophysics and discovered hat no existing package, commercial or otherwise, existed with the combination of powerful features that he required to solve his problem. This spawned a deep interest in genetic algorithms, which resulted in the 1st generation multi-objective Ferret Genetic Algorithm by 2004. Today's Qubist optimization package includes the much more powerful 4th generation Ferret code, plus 4 other multi-objective optimizers that suit a wide range of needs, as well as additional built-in tools for visualization, analysis, and parallel computing.
nQube was formed in 2007, with the single-minded purpose to offer the most comprehensive, inventive, and powerful set of multi-objective optimizers and analysis tools in existence. Our goal is to remove the technical burdens of tough optimization and data-modeling problems, as much as possible, so that you can focus on your particular applications. We are a small company built on innovation, and an enthusiastic commitment to helping our users to succeed with their own innovations.
